FAQ
When should I start to have my dog groomed?
We recommend within the first three months as grooming can be a very stressful moment for first timers! Eventually your puppy will get used to it, as he will need grooming for the rest of his life. This is especially the case with long coated breeds such as Maltese, Poodles and Bischons as they need continual grooming for their coats.
How does a matted dog feel?
If your dog is matted, it will feel terribly stressed and in pain. The matts on your dogs skin actually pull the skin as your dog moves which can cause irritation and even result in skin problems and can be very costly to fix.
Sedation?
We do not sedate under any situation. If your dog requires sedation then you will need to speak to a vet.
Will my dog be muzzled?
Dogs that show signs of aggression will be muzzled for their safety and ours.
Can i bring some treats for my dog?
Yes. We always encourage owners to bring a few treats to reward their dog. You are also welcome to bring a doggy coat or his favourite blanket to keep him warm after a complete body clipping, especially for small breeds.
Will my dog be put in a cage?
All our cages are large with plenty of room. For safety reasons we can not let the dogs run loose and besides we would like him to stay clean ready to be picked up. We generally do not keep them too long in the cage as pick up times are advised and depending on the type of grooming required, time range can be up to one and a half hours.
Should my dog’s vaccinations be up to date?
YES – absolutely. Your dog must be vaccinated as it is your responsibility to keep him immunised against any bugs!
I wont be able to make my appointment, what do I do?
Please phone us at least 24 hrs prior to your appointment, so we can reschedule your appointment. This will also allow us to arrange another dog for grooming rather than waste the allotted appointment time.
